Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several popular shows, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
A Life in Improv
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted on social media.
Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
