New information has come to light regarding the tragic passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their residence home on Sunday.

The Alarm

A source indicates quoting a person close to the family, a massage therapist arriving for an session initially became concerned after not being able to enter the residence. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

When she went into the home, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Developments

Authorities have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained without bail.

Correcting the Record

The confidential informant questioned several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that time.

The source also pushed back against widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
